Global leaders in innovative, sustainable lobster management

Australian Lobster Export Update #5

The focus is continuing on getting fishing family businesses around the country returning to business and supporting their local communities. Over the past twenty-four hours, Australian rock lobster fishers and exporters have worked on many fronts, with customers in China and with the relevant government authorities, in an effort to restore normal trade with China as quickly as possible.

There is no news to report since yesterday. However, we are continuing to have an ongoing dialogue with our importers and customers where we are reinforcing the mutual trust and respect we have for each other. Particularly the right of countries to establish border inspection processes to safeguard their citizens.

The Australian rock lobster industry’s aim is to continue to supply premium wild-caught rock lobster to our Chinese customers. We want everyone to continue to share special moments with their families and friends safe in the knowledge that Australian rock lobster meets the highest standard of food safety and quality of any government compliance system.

Industry is choosing not to public statements. Instead, we are talking to each other, our customers and people in our business and government networks. We believe, with
hundreds of family-owned businesses involved in Australia and China wanting to get back to normal trade as quickly as possible, that it is the most responsible thing we can
do.
