Members elect Linda Williams and Peter Hammond to the WRL Council Board

Tuesday marked the 2017 Western Rock Lobster (WRL) Council Annual General Meeting (AGM) and unveiling of the new brand at Fremantle Sailing Club.

A vote to fill the vacant Zone C positions saw the reappointment of Linda Williams and appointment of Peter Hammond to the Board. WRL Chair, Kim Colero, congratulated Linda on her reappointment and welcomed Peter to the Board.

“I congratulate both Linda and Peter on their appointments and look forward to working with them going forward.”

The AGM also saw the unveiling of the new WRL brand including new logo and website.

“As you look around the room you will see our new branding and logo. We have invested considerable time and resources into ensuring we are representing industry in a modern, exciting and innovative way to raise our profile.

This will be particularly valuable for engaging with the next generation of industry, a prime consideration when we talk about growth and sustainability of our industry,” Mr Colero said.

Closing the AGM, Mr Colero thanked Mr Peter Stanich for his dedication during his two year term on the Board.

“I thank Peter Stanich for his commitment during his Board appointment over the last two years. Peter has been a valuable and active member of our Board.

I’d also like to thank everyone involved with the Western Rock Lobster industry and I urge you all to participate in your Council as we strive to take the industry GVP from $400m to $1billion over the next ten years”, Mr Colero concluded.

Both Ms Williams and Mr Hammond commenced their two-year term as Directors as of the 24th of October 2017.
